HOPE Cape Town USA understands that in a rapidly globalizing world a life-threatening health pandemic such as HIV/AIDS has no geographic boundaries. Furthermore, HOPE Cape Town understands that root causes of vulnerability and marginalization are similar throughout the world and connects people in both USA and South Africa. Lastly, we also understand the danger of resistance to HIV/AIDS and other conditions, as experienced in Southern Africa.
The connection between poverty and HIV/AIDS is too clear to ignore. Furthermore, the lack of education and patriarchal society hinders further progress on the battles against HIV/AIDS. In order to beat HIV/AIDS, a holistic approach is necessary.
But HIV/AIDS is too often connected to poverty, lack of education as well as male dominated society structures. To beat HIV/AIDS it needs a holistic approach which touches on early childhood development, poverty relief, training and education besides health.
HOPE Cape Town firmly believes that HIV/AIDS care is more than medical. Our care model incorporates childhood development, poverty relief, and training and education to comprehensively address the root cause of HIV/AIDS.
As a result, Hope Cape Town USA believes there is tremendous value in collaborating with others. Through collaboration, we can exchange best practices, expertise and create synergies in HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment while alleviating poverty and uplifting marginalized communities.
HOPE Cape Town USA connects South Africa and the USA in soliciting funding and facilitating knowledge sharing to improve the quality-of-life of people affected by HIV/ AIDS and related health problems and/or poverty.
The mission of HOPE Cape Town USA is to work in collaboration with the HOPE Cape Town Trust.
